Saturday, May 20th, 2017, Brooke Bellinson competed in the AAU Florida Jump Rope Qualifying Tournament. She and her team had tremendous success! Brooke placed in the top 10 and qualified to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics this July 26-30th in Novi Michigan!

(It doesn’t happen very often to have all jumpers qualify but it did this year! WOOHOO!)

Third Grade Gifted teacher, Monise Miller, is Elaine Weisburd 2017 Teacher of the Year for Most Innovative Teacher. Congratulations!!!

Mrs. Miller and her third grade class will be creating an amazing new butterfly garden on school grounds thanks to Girl Scout Troop 739.

Troop 739 donated funds from their cookie sales as well as proceeds from an event at Buckner Karate (who had generously donated their time to teach the scouts basic safety moves).

Amazing Artists Get Golden Keys

Two of our Bobcats have received Gold Medal Awards in Florida as part of the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. Congratulations to Bobcats Patricia Barthle and Zoe Goldenberg as well as to their art teacher Ms. Vidal-Santos.

8th grader Patricia Barhtle piece received Florida Gold Medal for her editorial cartoon.

Zoe Goldenberg's piece Shoodwidushu was selected as a National Gold Medal Award for Fashion and also recognized as the Best in Grade Level. She will receive her award at a ceremony in New York City this spring.

On February 25, the Bobcats competed against Sunny Isles K-8 Center in a friendly kickball competition— and won!!! A great time was had by all!

She won 1st place/Gold Medalist of the National Championship AAU Karate- July 2016
Hudson Koczwara, a fourth grader from Ms. Mora’s class, wrote the poem, ”The Secret Life of Hudson” which will be published in a new poetry book, entitled, “Imagine”. Way to go, Hudson!

Hudson Koczwara, a fourth grader from Ms. Mora’s class, came in first place in a 5K run in Miami Shores for North Shore Medical Time. His incredible time was He placed 16th overall and won first place for ages 10 and under. Awesome running since this is Hudson’s second race ever!

Daniela Murcia a 6th grader student from Ruth K. Broad participated in the new Nickelodeon program "Food Hunters" and today October 16th was the launching episode in Latin America.
Food hunters is a contest cooking program consisting of two phases. The first one is action and adventure and the second one cooking with a technique based on the secret ingredient Chef Lorena Garcia give them in each challenge.
More than 1,000 kids were able to go to the auditions and only 88 kids were able to participate. Then on each episode they eliminated 2 during the farm contest that consist of surpassing obstacles and 6 of each group goes to the next challenge in the kitchen.
