The PTA and Administration would like to take this opportunity to ask families to go over pedestrian safety with their children. These basic safety measures may seem annoying or trivial, but it is critical that all pedestrian and vehicle traffic respect the rules of the road for the safety of all of our children.

For Students:
Wear safety gear while riding bikes and boards.
Walk close to the curbs and not in the middle of the streets.
Do not block traffic flow.
Walk against traffic (not with the traffic) so that you can see cars approaching you.
Wait for walking signals before crossing intersections.
Make eye contact with drivers when crossing intersections (even when you have the right of way).
Respect vehicle traffic.
Do not play or push others while walking in the street.
Ride boards and bikes properly...not sitting or laying on boards (Drivers cannot see you!)

For Parents:
Respect the pedestrian traffic and be patient.
Respect the crossing guards! They are doing their job
Do not text and drive.
Do not speed.
Stop and look both ways before driving through crosswalks.
Do not block traffic.
Do not double park.
Do not exit your vehicle in the carpool lane.
