What is a PTA?

A PTA is a non-profit association, run by volunteers. It has national, state and community connections with benefits which include family, student and school-focused programs; training, guidance and materials for use in local units and schools.

What does it mean to be a member of our PTA?

It means you want to make a difference in the education, health, and welfare of the children and youth at Ruth K. Broad. You want to be involved parents who learn directly about the challenges facing schools, and how to work with others to assist your child and the children in your community to achieve the goals that will bring them future success.

The studies show
Kids do better when parents are involved.
Grades are higher.
Test scores improve.
Attendance increases.

Why you?

The PTA benefits everyone. Strong schools mean better students and stronger communities. Collaboration is the key. Our PTA wants an organization that is diverse. You can make a difference for your child, the children in the community and beyond. Join today and begin looking for ways you can get involved; attend meetings, volunteer some of your time, support the PTA, participate in fundraising and play an active role in making RKBBH the best it can be.

The Objectives of the PTA

  • To promote the welfare of the children.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. To bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth
  • To develop strong relationships between educators and the general public to create united efforts to secure for all children and youth the highest advantages of physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The Benefits of the PTA

  • Learn about important issues affecting children in your community.
  • Participate in family-oriented activities, programs, projects and services.
  • Be a part of the largest child advocacy volunteer association in America.
  • Access to PTA resources and materials.

We need YOU to join the RKBBH PTA.

PTA membership forms have been sent home and are available in the PTA office. RKBBH PTA is an active organization bringing activities and educational enrichment to our students. Your membership will help support these activities and help make Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center a very special place for our children. Why join PTA? Because our kids are worth the investment and a strong PTA membership illustrates our community's support of schools and children.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
